Alongside Mark Schlereth, he served as the Arena Football League’s ESPN announcer. In 2001, he made an appearance on SportsCenter’s “The One” to make the announcement that there would be no NFL games that week. Wingo presented NFL Primetime before taking over for Mike Greenberg as co-anchor of the ESPN Radio morning appearance “Mike Golic” in 2017. Greenberg left to broadcast “Get Up!”

He provided the voiceovers for “ESPN NFL 2K5” for video games. Wingo has been featured in a commercial for Raymond Weil’s opulent RW Sport line. It was revealed that he quit ESPN in 2020.
