Christian Stephen Yelich was born on December 5, 1991 in Thousand Oaks, California. He grew up the youngest of six siblings in a very tightknit family. At an early age, Christian was introduced to baseball by his oldest brother Cameron and began playing with Little League teams at 8 years old. From then on, Christian discovered his passion for the game and later went on to play for Westlake High School in Thousand Oaks where he set a school record of 64 RBIs as a senior.
